Notes on my photography journey:
I first got my Nikon Z5 in August 2023, just two months after my dissertation field work began. My goal was to 1. document the beauty of pygmy rattlesnakes, 2. have high resolution photographs of lesions caused by fungal pathogens, and 3. learn more from individual pygmy rattlesnakes about the variability of their head and saddle patterns, foraging and thermoregulatory coils, and microhabitat. Getting a closer look in photographs that last forever, of snakes that live for a handful of years, is an absolute joy and a way I can respect and appreciate their existence. On this page, I'm including some of my favorite photographs I've taken since I started with my Nikon. There's many more! All my favorite pygmy rattlesnake shots I post to my Instagram @FL.SIMI. I'm not sure how I'll organize this mini portfolio moving forward but for now, enjoy some awesome wildlife!
